Notice and Disclosure

In general, you may visit this website without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information. LFS collects domain information from your visit to customise and improve your experience on our website.

Personal Information

Some areas of this website contain personally identifiable information, which is information that you have given LFS and it enables us to identify and contact you. If you opt to provide this sort of information we may also use it for purposes such as to verify your identity, providing a list of fishery bookings, inviting you to society and occasional third party events, sharing catch information, conduct and disciplinary matters, in connection with organising our annual raffle and auction (in which case we will pass winning member’s contact details to donors) and as part of news articles and other society matters that might be circulated within society's newsletters, emails and on this website. If you do not provide such consent, we will be unable to communicate with you.

As a club run by volunteers, committee members will carry out their various tasks from their work or personal computers, and in so doing may from time to time incidentally acquire personally identifiable data on those computers. All such computers are password protected.
The Society also operates an online members’ directory. This is operated on an “opt in” basis. That is to say that members who opt in agree that that their contact details will be shared with other members who also opt in.

Our website service provider (BoxWebs Ltd) acts as the online custodian of the society's membership information under LFS direction and control.

Retention of Information

Personal information is maintained while you are a member of the society. Should your membership lapse then the information is retained for a further calendar year and then removed from the records. Booking information is maintained for audit and accounting purposes but this is limited to booking information, payment totals and your user name and email address.

LFS will respect your wishes and provide the facility for you to unsubscribe from any email communications that you may receive from us. To unsubscribe via email contact with the words Unsubscribe Emails from LFS in the subject line. If you unsubscribe from emails we will be unable to communicate with you and inform you of events taking place within the Society.
